Q. How many people will this serve?
A.  Most meals will feed a family of 4 to 6 people. Depending on appetites, your servings may vary.

Q. How will I know how to prepare the food once I am home?
A.  We provide cooking instructions for all meals. A detailed label is affixed to your packaging and instructions are also listed on the web site for each meal. Two Kitchens also provides you with alternate cooking instructions.

Q. There are just two of us, can we split up the portions?
A.  Yes! There will be a small charge to cover extra packaging costs. We do not recommend splitting casserole-type dishes or slow cooker items. A notation will be placed on these recipes.

Q. Will this fit in my freezer?
A.  Yes! Your meals are packaged in a variety of disposable pans and freezer bags, all of which are provided. They will easily fit in a standard freezer. We recommend placing 1 or 2 meals in the refrigerator right away to use within a day or two. It also gives you a nice excuse to clean out your freezer and keep plenty your favorite frozen treats etc… on hand.

Q. I am so busy. Can you make my meals?
A.  We would be delighted to for an additional $35.

Q. How do I pay for my meals?
A.  You pay for your meals when you register for your session. We accept Debit, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Q. How do I register?
A.  Log on to www.twokitchens.com, register in person at our gourmet shop or call us at 630-717-9630, We have customary retail hours.

Q. How do I cancel?
A.  If you cannot attend your scheduled session, please call us 3 days in advance so we can offer others the opportunity to schedule a session. We will work with you to reschedule your session.

Q. Do you accommodate parties?
A.  Yes we do. Call us at 630-717-9630 for more information or go to Parties and Promotions Packages. Schedule your party and get your secret code!

Q. Are children allowed?
A.  Due to Health Department regulations children under 14 can not attend sessions but we do offer Children’s Cooking Classes which will coincide with several meal preparation sessions for your convenience.

Q. Can I really make 8 or 12 meals in 2 hours?
A.  We have perfected the recipes and tested the process, finished the chopping, slicing, grating etc… enabling you to prepare your menu in 2 hours or less.

Q. We don’t like spicy or green peppers. Can we adjust the recipes?
A.  ABSOLUTELY. Any spice you’ll need is available and you can leave out what you or your family members do not like. i.e. green peppers or mushrooms. Our chefs can assist you or make suggestions to help you adapt your meals accordingly.

Q. My family has food allergies. How are allergies handled?
A.  Please inform us of any food allergies you or your family members have when you register for your session. Many people with food allergies use Two Kitchens. All labels and ingredients are available for you to review in our store. We will assist you with substitutions or changes to recipes if needed. Please be aware that common food allergens such as milk and nuts are used in some of our recipes and will be present during most sessions. If necessary, we can prepare a particular meal for you in our kitchen away from a food that may cause a reaction. Just give a call or stop in to talk to us. We are more than happy to accommodate.

Q. How do you practice food safety?
A.  Two Kitchens has taken extra steps to exceed all health department and food safety requirements. Our store is a hands free environment with state of the art sanitation products and equipment. Our chefs and staff have been trained in food safety and will instruct all customers on proper food handling and hygiene so everyone can have a safe yet fun experience. The instructions can be applied to safe food handling and hygiene in your own home too! Each station and all utensils are thoroughly sanitized after each food preparation session. Hand washing is required before each session, after coughing or sneezing, after using the restroom and between stations. All health and safety instructions will be reviewed at the beginning of each session. Your family’s health and safety is very important to us. Two Kitchens will provide an apron, scarf and disposable gloves for every customer. We are required to follow all city and county health and safety standards.

Q. I don’t like to cook. Can I do this?
A.  Definitely Yes! Remember we do all the preparation and provide simple step-by-step instructions. If you can use a spoon, you can do this. Our staff and/or chefs will be happy to demonstrate techniques and answer any questions.

Q. What do I need to wear and bring to a session?
A.  You will want to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a Thermal Bag or two. Thermal Bags are available for purchase at our cost when placing your order. This is the most hygienic way to transport your meals. We provide all the meal storage containers and will provide you with a scarf, apron and disposable gloves. The Health Department requires appropriate hair restraints be worn while preparing your meals.

Q. What are the Thermal Bags?
A.  The Thermal Bags are a durable, insulated bag that provides a convenient way to bring hot or cold food items home and provide a good means of transport. The bags use a patented 3 layer technology™ which is an award winning high performance insulant. They have a 8” fully gusseted side panel, heavy duty Snap-in Handles and a reinforced bottom panel. You will be able to reuse this bag for picnics, the beach, soccer practice and ball games. They fold and can be stored easily in your vehicle.

Q. Will I save on meals using Two Kitchens?
A.  By letting us do your shopping, preparation, packaging etc… your already saving time and money. The average family throws away about 27% of the food they buy. In addition to saving time, you will save money.

Q. Will my food look good especially if I am serving guests?
A.  We have provided photos of all our meals on our web site for you to look at for presentation. Our chefs are always on hand to answer any of your questions. Our photos will often contain our recommended side dishes or garnish that you may want to add.

Q. What if I do not like a meal?
A.  Please let us know exactly what you did not like. It is very important to let us know the exact details. Keep in mind if you or one of your family members does not like a certain ingredient you can take it out to avoid this situation. We cannot be responsible for improper cooking. Instructions are provided as well as alternate cooking methods and tips. All our meals have been family tested and approved. Stop in and complete a form and we will credit you a meal of equal or lesser value. Note: Two Kitchens reserves the right to review and consider each individual circumstance.
