“Food is so important throughout our lives and without flavor food just becomes sustenance. Flavor is the one thing that connects continents, people, families and friends.”
"After researching meal prep businesses across the country, I found the common thread to be the absense of flavor. After discussions with friends and chefs we knew, we hired professional chefs to develop meals that taste great even after being frozen for 3+ weeks using no preservatives. All our meals were family tested and evaluated extensively. Only the meals that passed with flying colors ended up on our menu.”
Rosa grew up in a very ethnic neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. She learned to appreciate many types of food from various countries through friends, neighbors and fairs. A Puerto Rican who loves Perogies, Tamales and Gyros, umm, imagine that!
Rosa and her husband, Jeff, moved to Naperville, Illinois 9+ years ago where she started a Decorative Painting and Interior Decorating business. Due to the extraordinarily physical aspects of the process she could no longer do what she loved most, creative art!
Three years ago, they built a house in Bolingbrook to accommodate Jeff’s mother and father. With an extended family to care for, coming home to cook after a physical day became overwhelming. After an especially exhaustive day, Rosa realized that while she enjoyed cooking, she didn’t particularly relish the time it took to prep and clean up. Rosa loves utilizing her creativity when cooking, in fact, she rarely uses a recipe!
The most relaxing part of her day was sitting down to watch Food Network. She couldn’t get enough of cooking shows. After seeing a show featuring meal preparation, Rosa began to visualize ways she could expand on her love of cooking and food. She consulted with her husband about opening not only a meal preparation kitchen, but a cooking school and gourmet shop as well. After falling off his chair, Jeff considered how hard Rosa would work to make it a success and agreed to support her in achieving her dream. Rosa’s vision included a kitchen in both the cooking school and meal preparation area and Viola! Two Kitchens was born.
